Nursing services is futher defined as those functions,including basic health care,that help patients cope with difficulties in daily living that are associated with their actual or potential health or illness problems or the treatment thereoff,and that require a substantial amount of scientific knowledge or skill.

Department of nursing SASMEC @IIUM started from 2015 with total post 1 matron,4 sister’s and 57 staff nurse,then the number of nurses start increasing for year 2016 when hospital start offered clinical services for 1 clinic,2 multidisciplinary ward (Female and Male) and 2 Operation Theatre.

And for year 2019,with total 476 strenght number of nurses ,SASMEC @IIUM offered 10 ward (medical,surgical,paediatric and Obstectric & gynaecology),4 critical area unit which is included ICU,CCU,NICU,SCN and Emergency Department services and 10 clinic’s.
